Das DIGITAL ART LAB ist der Treffpunkt für digitale Kunst während der Berlin Art Week 2023 im Haus am Lützowplatz (HaL). Begleitend zur Ausstellung Unleashed Utopias. Künstlerische Spekulationen über Gegenwart und Zukunft im Metaverse finden vom 13. bis 17. September verschiedene Talks, Panels, Workshops und Performances statt.
Namhafte Künstler*innen und Expert*innen aus der digitalen Kunstbranche tauchen mit euch tief in die Themen rund um VR-Kunst ein. Erfahrt mehr über virtuelle Welten und lernt, wie digitale Kunst selbst programmiert werden kann.
Das DIGITAL ART LAB feiert seine Eröffnung mit einer Rede von Alistair Hudson, dem neuen Direktor des ZKM: Zentrum für Kunst und Medien. In seiner Rede wird Hudson auf die Bedeutung und die Zukunft neuer Technologien für Kunst und Gesellschaft eingehen. Welchen Einfluss werden digitale Medien langfristig haben und welche Rolle spielt dabei zeitgenössische Kunst?
Weitere Grußworte sprechen Dr. Heinrich-Wilhelm Wörmann, Vorstandvorsitzender des Hauses am Lützowplatz, und Peggy Schoenegge, Kuratorin des DIGITAL ART LAB.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the DIGITAL ART LAB on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 6 pm.
The DIGITAL ART LAB is the venue for digital art during the Berlin Art Week 2023 at the Haus am Lützowplatz (HaL). To accompany the exhibition Unleashed Utopias. Artistic Speculations on the Present and Future in the Metaverse, a program of events, including various talks, panels, workshops, and performances will take place between 13 and 17 September 2023.
Renowned artists and experts from the field of digital art will do a deep dive with you into themes concerning VR art. You’ll learn more about virtual worlds, as well as how to program digital art yourself.
The DIGITAL ART LAB celebrates its opening with a talk by Alistair Hudson, the new director of the ZKM Karlsruhe (Center for Art and Media). Hudson will address the significance of new technologies for art and society, and their future. What will be the long-term influence of digital media, and what role does contemporary art play?
Other introductory talks will be given by Dr. Heinrich-Wilhelm Wörmann, head of board of Hauses am Lützowplatz, and Peggy Schoenegge, curator of the DIGITAL ART LAB.
