Seiji Morimoto (Berlin): objekte, feedback-system
Aki Onda is a performer, composer and visual artist who lives in New York and is known for his „cassette memories project“ a sound diary collected over a span of two decades. His live work consists of field recordings and urban soundscapes which he manipulates in a very individual way. Onda has collaborated with such artists as Alan Licht, Eye Yamatsuka & Nobukazu Takemura (Audio Sports), Shelley Hirsch, Blixa Bargeld, Lionel Marchetti, Noël Akchoté. Currently he is Artist in Residece at Récollets, Paris.
Since 2003 Seiji Morimoto lives in Berlin an takes actively part in the city’s sound-art scene. Both in his live performaces (among others with Olivier di Placido, Keitetsu Murai, Erin Sexton, Nicolas Wiese, Kakawaka) and in his videos and sound-installations, Morimoto’s artistic work turns away from information-overload and high-speed information. He is creating feedback-systems and microphoned custom motors, using low-end technology and objects to create a poetic, abstract and reductionistic sound.
